Collecting from the Brodsky Center at PAFA

The Brodsky Center at PAFA is a residency program that is partially sustained by the sale of works created by artists invited to participate. These artists work in collaboration with our Collaborative Printmakers and Papermakers. Our facilities enable many types of techniques, including lithography, screen printing, intaglio, digital printmaking, handmade paper, and more. Our sales primarily support artists.

Why Prints and Handmade Paper Works?

People collect prints and handmade paper works for many reasons – the unique aesthetic and the hard-earned skills of the artist, demonstrated through superior technique, draw many art lovers to these works. Collectors also often find limited editions more affordable than paintings or sculptures. These works are a great way for first-time art buyers to start their collection!

Limited Editions at the Brodsky Center

The phrase “Limited Edition” means that the artwork is created as a controlled number of multiples called “impressions.” Depending on the technique and the artist’s desires, the impressions in an edition can be completely identical or have some purposeful differences. The Brodsky Center’s current practice is to limit editions to 10 impressions.
