Artist: Avery, Eric

Eric Avery studied psychiatry and medicine while working as a professional printmaker. Avery’s body of work is a study of art medicine, human vulnerability and human rights. Several of Avery’s works are centered around infectious disease and mortality. Much of his work is influenced by his medical practice. By bringing HIV medicine and the study of infectious disease to museum and gallery spaces, Avery hopes to prove that art can save lives.
