Artist: Hayes, Sharon

Sharon Hayes is a multimedia artist and activist. In her series “The Nature of the Beast” Hayes extracts fragments of dialogue between feminist politician Bella Abzug and her voice coach. The text brings up questions surrounding the specific gendered conundrum of speaking in and through politics.
