Artist: Lopez, Yolanda

Yolanda Lopez was an American painter, printmaker, educator, and film producer. Her work depicts the experiences of Mexican-American women, and challenges the stereotypes they are faced with. Lopez was a feminist and activist who celebrated the working class. She refused to cater to the institutions of art in favor of maintaining strong political and ethical commitments.
