Artist: Humphrey, Margo
Originally a Californian, Margo Humphrey has taught for decades at the University of Maryland, College Park. In her work, Humphrey recounts her personal experiences as an African American woman, with images, symbols, and scripts that tell an intimate narrative. Bold colors and flat planes intertwine to form a personal iconography and address issues of race and gender, relationships and spirituality. A consummate printmaker, she created several editions at the Brodsky Center.
