Yazzie’s work is culturally based on her heritage of being a Diné (Navajo) person. In her practice, she explores travel and transformation and she works to encourage others to learn more about social, cultural and political phenomena shaping the lives of contemporary Native peoples. Her work is in collections including the Anchorage Museum of History & Art, the Art Museum of Missoula, the Australian National Gallery, the Institute of American Indian Arts, the Kennedy Museum of Art and the Rhode Island School of Design Museum.
