Sky Blue Kite

Byron Kim (American b. 1961), "Sky Blue Kite", 2001, blue pigment selected by Byron to match the blue of the sky on the day of production, 100% handmade Korean Kozo fiber paper, entire kites were fabricated from each sheet of paper including the tail, 29 x 32 inches overall, edition of 30, published by the Brodsky Center at PAFA, Philadelphia.

Kim created these kites to mimic the color of the sky around them when they were flown. Every impression was flown individually by the artist, and a polaroid of the kite’s flight is included in each impression. This piece is in PAFA’s Museum collection.
