In Hancock’s fantasy universe, the world in divided into “vegans,” who are evil and permanently confined to a black- and-white underground world, and the good “mounds,” who are born and then followed in life, death, dreams and afterlife. In the narrative developed in this group of prints, the two come together in a triumph of magnificent colors. Hancock completed his MFA at Tyler School of art in Philadelphia. This portfolio is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.
